Felix Film

Felix Film is an independent film and television production company established in 1998 by Laura Pettini and Silvia Pettini. Today, we are acknowledged as “quality” documentary film producers, thanks to international film festivals and international television sales. We produce the projects we love and we share in their themes. Our aim is to produce documentary films made by different authors on very different subjects, addressed to a highly heterogeneous target audience. For our work we obtained the support of Female entrepreneurs Fund, and project development fund (slate) of Media Programme of EU. We joined Doc/it the association of Italian documentarists and EDN, European documentary network.

Our later production are E L’AMORE? - THE PERFECT FIT (by Piergiorgio Gay, 2005), in collaboration with Haibun and with the participation of Rai Tre and Yle Fst , with the support of Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali, which became a television format, and BEING CLAUDIA CARDINALE (by Stefano Mordini, 2005), coproduced by Avro, Rai Trade, with the participation of Yle Teema, Svt, Sbs, with the support of Media Programme of European Union.

Our story starts with the success of LUCHINO VISCONTI (by Carlo Lizzani, 1999), presented at 56° Mostra Internazionale d’arte Cinematografica di Venezia; ROBERTO ROSSELLINI (by Carlo Lizzani, 2001), special event at the Auditorium of Louvre in Paris, in the occasion of special exhibition about Rossellini organized by Cahiers du Cinema; CESARE ZAVATTINI (by Carlo Lizzani, 2003), preview at 60° Mostra Internazionale d’arte Cinematografica di Venezia, which gained the Special Jury Price at Festival del Cinema D’Arte di Bergamo in 2004; CERCANDO SOPHIA (Sophia Loren, by Roberto Olla, 2004) with the support of Media Programme of European Union, presented at 1° Kyev documentary festival. The 32 documentary films on I MESTIERI DEL CINEMA (by Carlo Lizzani, 1999/2000/2001). Those documentaries have been realized in coproduction with: Ndr/Arte, Zdf/Arte, Avro, Svt, Sbs, Yle Teema, Yle Fst, Rai Fiction, Rai Cinema, Rai Trade, Istituto Luce, Cinecittà Holding, Museo nazionale del Cinema di Torino. And are distributed worldwide by Rai Trade or Surf Film, had success among the audience and critics, from the standpoint international sales and participated at the main international film festivals: Montreal, Città del Capo, Biarritz, Philadelphia, Goteborg, Valladolid, Istanbul.

Furthermore, Felix Film was the executive producer of CIELI DI TOSCANA (Tuscan Skies), 12 short films featuring and about Andrea Bocelli, directed by Larry Weinstein, a Rhombus Media/Sugar/Universal production. DIAMANTI, ARTE, STORIA E SCIENZA, documentary for the exhibition “Diamanti” (Roma, Scuderie del Quirinale, 2003), production Crisalide / De Luca Editori D’Arte. VERONICA, a short film for the social awareness campaign on the theme of solitude, directed by Carlo Lizzani, a Paypermoon Italia production.
